Method / cooling-load planner v0.1
A result should arrive with its own audit trail.
This first slice is deliberately transparent and deliberately limited. It demonstrates how room, energy and solar data will be combined before live location feeds are connected.
Cooling-load structure
The calculator separately estimates opaque-fabric conduction, window conduction and solar gain, outside-air load, people and equipment, and humidity allowance. It then applies an uncertainty band based on the quality of the construction inputs.
Current design conditions
Version 0.1 uses a 30°C UK and 35°C US outdoor benchmark. It does not yet fetch local design temperatures or humidity. Results therefore say “planning range” and never present themselves as Manual J, CIBSE or installer design calculations.
Running cost and solar overlap
Running cost uses the electricity rate entered by the visitor, an explicit efficiency assumption and estimated duty cycle. Solar overlap is only a screening estimate until hourly PVGIS data is connected for the UK and PVWatts for the US.
Claim lifecycle
Each submission creates an immutable calculation run and a derived claim. Claims begin as draft, remain outside the sitemap, and can be reviewed in the operator console. Source snapshots and the calculation version make later changes detectable.
